Katherine Weissel

Katherine operated in the NSW Police Force for 25 years before moving into the private sector and academia. She has expertise in emergency & crisis response, threat management, counter terrorism, governance & compliance, and cyber operations. She specialised in counter terrorism for 11 years and developed expertise in covert cyber operations. Katherine has postgraduate qualifications in security and strategic studies, and cybersecurity. She has also trained and deployed internationally in support of international war crimes investigations and is currently consulting and training in the areas of security and risk management. Katherine is a sessional tutor with one of Australia’s leading universities in the fields of criminology and criminal justice, specialising in counterterrorism & global law, cybersecurity, and other criminology units.
