Simon Carabetta

A former high school teacher turned cyber security advocate, Simon has spent the past years helping to change and shape organisations' culture and approach to online security. From the first ever Security Awareness Trainer at WA's Water Corporation, to a key figure within CyberWest and AustCyber, his mission has always been first and foremost to change the common and public perception of cyber security being an isolate to just an IT problem.

Simon has worked inside WA's Office of Digital Government's Cyber Security Unit as a project coordinator and has recently stepped into the world of recruitment, setting up the Cyber Security Desk for Digital Resources Australia, the largest family owned recruitment firm in Perth.

In his spare time, Simon enjoys spending time with his three sons and swears that he is still the best when it comes to Mario Kart, although admittedly, his 12 year old is starting to get pretty good.
